January 23, 1992 ~ March 25, 2024 (age 32) 32 Years Old

Obituary

Lauren (Fenton) Scibelli, a vibrant soul who embraced life with fearless enthusiasm, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with congenital heart disease on March 25th at the age of 32. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 23, 1992, in Springfield, MA, Lauren underwent life-saving open heart surgeries as a baby, setting the tone for her courageous spirit. She grew up in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and went to Our Lady of Hope School. From there, she went on to graduate from Cathedral High School in 2010 and Elms College in 2014.

A true daredevil at heart, Lauren enjoyed the adrenaline rush of roller coasters, helicopter rides, and parasailing, embodying the thrill-seeker within her. As the cherished middle child of five, Lauren played an integral role in fostering the unbreakable bond shared among her family. She ensured that Sunday dinners continued to be a sacred tradition, building upon the foundation of love and unity within her family.

In 2012, fate intertwined her path with Elliot Scibelli as they began working together at the Basketball Hall of Fame, where their love story began. Five years later, they sealed their bond in marriage, embarking on a journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Fueled by her passion for adventure, Lauren found joy in traveling, with Cape Cod and beach destinations holding a special place in her heart.

She had an uncanny ability to tease others with an endearing cleverness. Lauren’s way was to make you feel seen and a part of every joke. She loved with all of her heart and cared for others with profound empathy.

Lauren made friends quickly and kept them for a lifetime. With an infectious charisma, Lauren effortlessly forged bonds wherever she roamed, her lively antics leaving an indelible mark on those around her.

Lauren leaves behind her beloved husband Elliot of Agawam, as well her parents Michael J. Fenton and MaryBeth Fenton, both of Springfield, and her four siblings: her brother, Michael A. Fenton and his husband, Jon Berthiaume, of Springfield, her sister, Brittany Fenton and her husband, Jake Trombley, of Springfield, her sister Marissa and her husband, William Grisè, of Ludlow, and her sister Taylor and her husband Joseph Christofori, of Wilbraham. Additionally, Lauren leaves behind her in-laws: Theodore and Susan Scibelli of Springfield; her brother-in-law, Jordan Scibelli of South Hadley; and her adored nephews and nieces: Owen Trombley, Harper and Hadleigh Grisè, and Noah and Nathan Scibelli. Lauren is predeceased by her dear grandparents, most recently by her beloved grandmother, Mary Mango, with whom she shared a special bond. She leaves behind dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Though she may be physically absent, Lauren's spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories she created and the lives she touched. The brightest of souls, she’ll be remembered and honored for her selflessness and love; with more love than any one heart could hold.
