Obituary

HAMPDEN – Laura Jane (Bradley) Morton, 69, passed away on February 11, 2021 surrounded by her family at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on October 2, 1951. Laura was the daughter of the late Harry and Edwina D. (Collins) Bradley. She attended Springfield Technical Community College and obtained her Associate’s Degree in Cosmetology.
For many years, Laura had also worked in healthcare as a caregiver and as hospice support.
Laura spent her life dedicated to being an amazing mother and grandmother. She was so incredibly proud of all her grandchildren. She loved watching her grandchildren’s many sporting events, she very rarely missed any of their many hockey, lacrosse or soccer games. Laura loved spending her summers at her home on Cape Cod. She enjoyed long walks on the beach with her husband, admiring sunsets, the ocean waves and spending time playing in the water and sand with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Laura was predeceased by her sister Gail and brother in law William Humphries; and infant grandson Caillin. She leaves her loving husband of 47 years Russell W. Morton of Hampden; her children Sara Weichselbaumer and her husband Eric of Hampden, Ryan Morton and his wife Heather of East Longmeadow and Lindsay Kane and her husband Stephen of Hampden; her grandchildren Dylan, Gavin, Caden and Caitlin Weichselbaumer, Tyler, Ava, and Caelan Luszcz, Hannah, Stevie and Lily Kane and Lola, Finley, Georgie and Theo Morton; her cousin Ann Gasperini who was like a sister to her; her brother in law Dennis Morton, her loving nieces and nephews Holly, Scott, Liz, Sean, Heather and Breanne Humphries. Laura also leaves several great nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members and loving friends including Janice and Richie Gallivan, Chrissy and Peter Dodd and Mary and Mitchell Drozdowski.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 4 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Masks and social distancing are required while attending services.
