Kathy L. Masciotra

August 13, 1955 ~ March 11, 2020 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Obituary

Kathy L. (Potito) Masciotra, 64, entered peacefully into God’s Kingdom on March 11, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield on August 13, 1955 to Florence (Lavertue) and Richard Potito, she moved to Agawam in her youth. A graduate of Agawam High School, she was employed by the Buxton Corporation before accepting employment as an Office Manager for Landry, Lyons & White Realtor for 18+ years. She completed her career with Ayre Real Estate, a family business where she truly loved her position and her co-workers. Kathy’s happiest moments include the births of two sons, Ryan and Mitchell and the true joy of her life, grandson Jared. Anyone who knew Kathy experienced her true exuberance for life – she smelled the coffee and counted her blessings every day. Kathy lit up any room with her glorious smile, an infectious laugh and her genuine caring personality. Kathy loved her garden and couldn’t wait for each Spring to plant. She was an avid music lover and enjoyed attending live events and even took to promoting her dear friends local band throughout the community. She loved kayaking, making jewelry, watching her Red Sox, taking walks and just simply enjoying her home. Perhaps her best known and best loved talent was in the kitchen. Kathy’s culinary innovation and mastery of creating her own recipes was legendary with family and friends. Jared so loved her cooking and called everything she made as “Grammie’s Italian Cheerios” as an example! Kathy leaves her devoted husband Anthony of 10 wonderful loving years; Sons, Ryan Wilson and wife Sheri and grandson Jared of Chicopee and Mitchell Wilson of Agawam; Sisters, Theresa Tarleton and James of Middletown, MD and Gina Potito of Tampa, FL; Mother and Father, Florence and Richard Potito of Spring Hill, FL and nieces and nephews that will all miss their Auntie Kathy. Visitation will be Monday March 16th from 4-7 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St, Agawam, MA. A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place on Tuesday, March 17th at 11AM at the funeral home with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s name to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 280 Chestnut St., 6th Fl., Springfield, MA 01199.
