Karen A Baker

Our precious Karen Anne Baker, 56 of East Hartford CT, formerly of Glenwood Circle in Longmeadow, died unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on August 24th, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford CT. Karen was born and raised in Longmeadow and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Karen’s love of life and her nature to always help others allowed her to dedicate her whole life to helping people in any way she could and she could keep track of all of them! Karen was the physical manifestation of unconditional love on this earth and we were blessed to have her in our lives. She is predeceased by her parents David G. Baker and Jane H. Clodgo Bontempo Baker and her niece & nephew Stephenie J. and Richard N. Bontempo III. She leaves behind her siblings Emily R. Bontempo, Richard N. Bontempo II and Lisa Y. (Baker) Gentile. Karen was “Auntie K K “ to the following children that meant the sun, moon & stars to her : Sarah, Julie & Abby, David & Markie, Stamatoula, Stathis & Eleftherios, Jovani & Gavin. Karen also leaves behind an irreplaceable, beloved friend, companion & partner Chris Turgeon of East Hartford, their adorable cat Olaf & their spunky turtle Lovey. She loved to spend time at her new home, on her new deck that Chris built for her. Her door was always open, never locked. The unconditional love & selflessness she showed to all in her life will stay with us forever. On Friday August 30th, a Mass will be held at 11am at St. Mary’s Church , 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA 01106 . Immediately followed by a Celebration of Life reception at The Springfield Elks Lodge # 61, 440 Tiffany St., Springfield MA 01108.
