Julia M. Vernadakis

Julia Mary Vernadakis 95, of East Longmeadow, has entered into eternal peace on Saturday, November 24th, 2018, lovingly surrounded by her family.

She was the kindest, most loving and strong mother, grandmother and friend to all that met her. Her deep faith in God was celebrated as a communicant of St Mark’s Church in East Longmeadow along with Father Mark and many close friends. She retired from Baystate Medical Center and enjoyed a long retirement, spending time helping nurture her grandchildren, while maintaining her health with her Healthtrax pool friends.

Predeceased by her husband Norman, her brothers Anthony and Albert, and sister Anna, Julia is survived by her daughter Christine and her husband Rick, sons James and his wife Lyndee and Norman and his wife Maureen; her six grandchildren, Celina, Marcus and his wife Kerry, Nickolas, Ariel, Alexa and Demetri; her great grandchildren Julia and Ryan and her step grandchildren Becky, Mark and Jeralyn. She also leaves her sisters and brothers Mary, Elisabeth, Fran and his wife Peggy, John and his wife Moira and Angelo. Julia will be dearly missed by her family and all who have known her.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a service at 10 AM at St. Mark’s Church, 1 Porter Rd. East Longmeadow, MA.
