Joyceann M. Taylor
February 3, 1936 ~ May 5, 2022 (age 86) 86 Years Old
East Longmeadow - Joyceann Marie Taylor, passed peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family.
Joyceann was born in Florence, MA on February 3, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Valida (Trudeau) Germain. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Sasseville and Harold Germain.
Joyce grew up in Monson and was a graduate of Monson High School. She married in 1959 and became the mother of two daughters. She worked at Forbes and Wallace for many years, then off to Grants Department Store and later settled into her job as a Loan Officer at Associates Loan Company. She loved working with numbers, but her true passion was meeting new people. Because of her magnetic personality, many of her coworkers as well as clients became lifelong friends, whom Joyce considered family. She later worked at Green Meadows Elementary School in Hampden, MA where she was able to continue to work with people, doing what she loved most.
In her spare time, Joyceann enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sports. Joyce also loved talking sports. She was an enormous New England sports enthusiast with a special love for the Boston Red Sox. She went to many games at Fenway Park with her daughters to cheer on her team and beloved Carlton Fisk.
Joyceann also enjoyed the ocean, daily walks, bowling, camping with Leonard and spending time with friends. One of her greatest passions was her grand-dog Puck. She jumped at every opportunity to Dog sit. Her family meant everything to her.
Joyce’s family will always remember her great sense of humor.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughters Sherry Coulis and Tammy Tongue and her husband Jeff and special sister in law Inge; also her grandchildren Luke, Jed, Amanda and Devan. Joyceann was blessed with a great grandchild, Brantley as well as extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center and the Baystate Medical Center Doctors and Nurses for their compassionate care of Joyceann.
