Joseph P. Violette

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Joseph P. Violette, 71, passed away on November 11, 2017. Born March 18, 1946 in Van Buren, Maine, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Tarent) Violette. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had worked for H. P. Hood and the United States Postal Service for many years. Predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Priscilla M. (Daigneau) Violette, who passed away January 10, 2008 and his brothers Norman, Harold, and Willard Violette, he leaves his children, Ann Petrangelo (Leonard) of Agawam, Raymond Armfield of Springfield, Marion Honsinger (Jon), and Albert Armfield (Norma) all of Agawam, and Joseph P. Violette Jr. of Springfield; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother Armand Violette and sisters Sandra Austin and JoAnn Caren. For the last five years Joe lived with his caretaker and nephew, Bobby McDonnell. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 12-1 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam followed by burial with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at 2 PM.
