John L. Sapia

East Longmeadow – John Louis Sapia, 82, passed away on March 28, 2019 at Wingate of East Longmeadow with his loving family by his side. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Louis and Margaret (Telesca) Sapia. A 1959 graduate of Cathedral High School, he went on to further his education earning his Bachelor’s Degree from American International College in 1959. He proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force. He was a Fire Insurance Inspector for Insurance Services Office (ISO) retiring in 1992. John was a member of the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61 for 54 years. He leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Susan R. (Siano) Sapia, of Springfield; his daughter Lisa Natario and her husband James of Ludlow; 2 grandchildren Matthew and Alyssa; and a sister, Georgia Carleton of Longmeadow. A private service was held on April 5th at St. Michael’s Church and John was interred at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
