Obituary

Springfield – John Ernst Noe, 87, joined his loving Savior Jesus Christ on June 24, 2020. John was born on November 16, 1932 to the late John Henry and Marie (Wendt) Noe in Cleveland, OH. At 19, John entered into the U.S. Air Force to serve during the Korean War. He earned the National Defense Medal & Good Conduct Medal. While stationed at Westover AFB, John met the love of his life, Gail, at a USO dance in Springfield. Married in 1957, they raised a family together. Following graduating from WNEC, John used his God gifted skills to enjoy a distinguished career in sales management for Rockwell and Milwaukee Power Tool Companies. A husband, father and grandfather, John loved spending time with his family, playing often with his children and grandchildren. John used his awesome God-given gift of voice to bless countless others with his singing in the church choir, in Community Music Theater, with the Gold & Blue Ribbon Singers, and with numerous singing engagements. John was committed to several activities to grow youth such as Cub and Boy Scout Leadership, basketball coaching and homeschool teaching. John had a warm, fun and outgoing personality; known for a beautiful smile that brought joy to all he knew and met. John leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years Gail (Stevens) of Springfield and his family of 3 children, John Kenneth of Springfield, Paul Stevens and wife, Jean of Dedham, and Darlene Stetson of Springfield; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, as well as a large family in Ohio, including his sister, Sondra Farrer, her 4 children, John’s niece and nephews, and their families. A private graveside will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Springfield. A memorial “Celebration of Life” service will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill St, Springfield, MA 01108.
