Joan B Edwards

ENFIELD, CT – Joan B. Edwards, 84, passed away on January 5, 2020 at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow. Born on June 9, 1935 in Ware, MA to the late John and Bernice (Parda) Konieczny, she graduated from Bay Path College with her Associate’s Degree. Following her graduation, she worked for the F.B.I. in New York City. She also had worked for Milton Bradley and Western New England College. Joan was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish and belonged to the St. Michael’s Women’s Club. She enjoyed exercising and traveling but most of all she loved her family. To cherish her memory, Joan leaves her devoted husband of 63 years, Richard F. Edwards of Enfield; her loving children Richard Edwards, Jr. and his wife Angela of East Longmeadow, Michael Edwards and his fiancée Tracy Futch of Centerville, MA, Diane Hood of Springfield and Darlene Brown and her husband Joseph of South Kingston, RI; her grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Allison, Vanessa, Corey, Jake, Nicole, Ryann, Dana and Paige; her great grandchildren Rea and Salvatore as well as her sister Ruth Skutnik and her husband William. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law Ronald Hood. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Michael’s Parish, 128 Maple St. East Longmeadow. Private burial to be held at a later date.
