East Longmeadow – Jeanne Draper, 67, passed away after a brave journey with cancer on Tuesday, June 5, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Born in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Francis J. and Theresa Rose (Lebeau) Lacoste, she graduated from Cathedral High School in 1969 and obtained her Legal Secretarial Science Associates Degree from STCC in 1971. She married her beloved husband in 1974, where they moved to East Longmeadow and raised their own family. Jeanne will be remembered for the love and care she had for her family and dear friends; and for her many talents such as sewing and organization skills. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time in Orient, Maine.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert “Bob” E. Draper; her caring daughter Brenda and her husband Christopher Scott of Feeding Hills; her son Robert Draper, Jr. of Springfield; her adored granddaughters Jillian and Katelyn Scott; her two brothers Thomas Lacoste and his wife Patsy of CA and Richard Lacoste of Chicopee; and her best friend Diane Lanier. A special thank you to the entire Lanier-Terramagra families for their friendship and care to Jeanne. The family would like to thank Dr. Burton, Dr. Glynn, and Kelly O’Brien RN for their exemplary medical care of Jeanne during her cancer treatment.
A celebration of Jeanne’s life will begin with visiting hours on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4:00-7:00pm at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation on 985 Main Street in Agawam. On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 we will gather at the funeral home at 9am and proceed to St. John the Evangelist Church for a 10:00am mass.
