Jean J.A. Savoie, 85, passed away on November 6, 2020 at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow. Born on March 22, 1935 in Trois-Rivi è res, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of late Eugene and Irene (Gosselin) Savoie.
For many years, Jean and his wife, Francine were members of Pioneer Valley
Chapter 8 Camping Club and the North American Family Campers Association. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for 2 years. He also loved the Boston Bruins, doing puzzles, and playing cards with family and friends.
Besides his parents, Jean was predeceased by his siblings Emery, Guy, Roland, Carmen and Roseanne Savoie. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of 51 years, Francine (Yergeau) Savoie of Springfield; his daughter Sherri Turowsky and her husband Patrick, and his sons Michel Savoie and Scott Savoie and his wife Tina.
Jean was known as Sneaky Pepere, Tough Pepere, and paquet de nerfs by his grandchildren Neesa, Kayla, Matthew, Jared, Frederic and Gabriel; his great-grandchildren Addison Rose, Evelyn Rose, Julian Joseph and Colette Jean; his brother Andre Savoie and his wife Carol, as well as many nieces and nephews- including Nancy Gesualdi, who was like a daughter to him.
Funeral services will be private for the family.
