Jean C. Ormsby

Jean C. Ormsby, 74, of Longmeadow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Belchertown, MA, February 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred L. Noel and Catherine M. Noel
(Bissonette). Loving and grateful wife of Robert I. Ormsby for 53 years. Loving and blessed Mother of Deborah J. Blanchard and her husband Steve of Holden, ME, Basil N. Ormsby of Feeding Hills, MA, Dawn M. Schlosser and her husband Jeff of Agawam, MA, Michelle L. Krischlunas and her husband Chris of Bridgeport, CT, and Valerie L. Dalessio and her husband Chris of Chicopee, MA. Proud and loving Grandmother of Nathaniel and Justin Blanchard, Robert and Jackson Schlosser, Tucker and Ty Dalessio. Sister of Rose M. Slavin and Karen P. Guthrie. Jean was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Rita Noel, Wilfred Noel, Constance A. Wisnowski, Lorraine I. Foley, Jeannette Mclaughlin, and cousin Carol J. Borowiec. Jean graduated from Belchertown High School in 1961. She was instrumental in helping Bob achieve his master’s degree. Although Jean had numerous jobs, she primarily worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service for 20 years. Jean devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed doing puzzles (jigsaw, sudoku, crosswords, jumble, etc.) and playing BINGO in her free time. A calling hour will be Tuesday, February 12th from 8:45AM to 9:45AM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA, followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA for a Funeral Mass at 11AM. A committal service will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA.
