Janice F. Karparis

Agawam - Janice F. Karparis, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her devoted husband of 52 years, Jon. Born June 15, 1939 in St. Johns, New Brunswick, she was a daughter to the late Neil and Freida (Ambrose) Foster. She was employed as a welder in Chicopee Falls and later worked for JM Fields. Janice and her husband were inseparable, and together they enjoyed playing golf, taking day trips to the casino and traveling to Florida. In addition to her husband Jon J. Karparis, she is survived by her brothers-in-law Bill and Doreen Karparis, Peter and Jenny Karparis and Michael Karparis; several nieces and nephews, including Donna Euell and her husband Calvin who was very dear to Janice. She will also be missed by her good friends Al and Ruth Powell, Don and Jane Finney and John Podgorski. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Barbara Fugere; and close friend Sue Podgorski. Visiting hours for Janice will be held from 4-7pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. A graveside service will be held at 9AM on Friday, October 26th in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janice’s name to the Baystate Davis Family Heart & Vascular Center, 759 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199.
