Janice C. Drummond

Southwick – Janice (Cesan) Drummond 78, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2020; surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of 57 years to Bernard J. Drummond.

Born in Springfield she was the daughter of the late Earl Cesan and Roberta (Kerr) Cesan. Janice grew up on a large farm in Agawam graduating from Agawam High School in 1959 as an honor student and member of the National Honor Society. Always loving rural settings, she was a resident of Southwick for the past 45 years. 

As a member of the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, UCC Janice and her husband were Counselor’s for the Pilgrim Fellowship Youth Program. She also served as the executive secretary at the church for ten years.
 
During her career she held other executive assistant positions including the Missiles & Space division of Hamilton Standard as well as executive Assistant to Bemis Wood, Vice President of Strathmore Paper Company.

Janice enjoyed knitting and collecting doll house miniatures as well as hand-made dolls. She adored cats and had several over the years. It was not uncommon to see one of them sleeping in her lap while she watched TV or read the paper.
 
In addition to her husband, she leaves her son, Kevin Drummond and Daughter in Law Karen of Southwick, brother Earl Cesan and wife Kathleen of Pittsfield, brother Douglas Cesan and wife Virginia of Westfield and sister Diane Hatch and Husband Thomas of Great Barrington. Janice also leaves eight nieces, nephews and their families, several aunts, an uncle and many cousins who she loved very much.
 
Calling hours will take place on Friday (Feb.14, 2020) from 4:00PM -7:00PM in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, (Highway 10/202), Southwick.
 
A funeral home service will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday (Feb.15, 2020). Burial will take place in the Spring.
