Jane Carolyn (Cloutier) Raimondi
1940-2021
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—It is with great sadness that the family of Jane (Cloutier) Raimondi share of her passing at 81 years young, on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jane was born on Sept. 10, 1940, to the late George and June Cloutier of West Springfield. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Louis T. Raimondi, just over a week ago. She grew up in West Springfield and was a graduate of West Springfield High School. She met her beloved sweetheart, Louis Raimondi, when they were 10 years old. They married in 1960 and made a home together in Feeding Hills for 50 years before retiring to Venice, Florida for the last 10 years. Jane’s first job was at the snack stand her father built for Springfield Country Club golfers. After graduating, she went to work at Gilbert & Barker as a key-punch operator. Jane was always adventurous and fiercely independent, loving life. She was a Girl Scout leader and worked at Waldbaum’s Food Mart, where she made wonderful life-long friendships. Jane retired after a career as a sales representative for McCormick Spice Company. Of all her jobs, her most important by far was raising a family—they were everything to her. Jane loved sewing and knitting, making beautiful quilts, scarves, and hats. She had a passion for gardening and spent many peaceful afternoons working among flowers. She passed down her love of gardening to her children and grandchildren. Jane also enjoyed playing cards, dominos, reading and spending time at the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, who became her family. Her family will always be grateful for the traditions she established and passed down. Jane was a loving, supportive, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She never wanted anyone to feel alone and invited others into her home with welcoming arms. Her loving and giving personality, those beautiful, sparkling blue eyes and wonderful smile will be missed by many. Jane will be deeply missed by her four children and their spouses, Kathleen and John Lertora of Suffield, Conn., Laurie and Jurgen Schussler of West Springfield, Michael L. Raimondi and Julie Wands, both of Chicopee, and Bill and Diane Raimondi of Chicopee; her beloved grandchildren, Brianna and Andrew Castillo of Florence, and Jeffrey and Ashley Lertora of Clinton; Joshua and Katie Schussler, and great-grandson, Ryan, of Wilbraham, and Jeremy and Brielle Schussler, and their son, Wyatt, of Tolland, Conn. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Judy Charneski and brother-in-law, John Charneski of Englewood, Florida, and many other cherished family and friends. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life joint service for her and her recently deceased husband, Louis T. Raimondi, which will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 12:00PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, followed by graveside services with Military Honors for Louis’ service to our country at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
