James B. Cullers Sr.

ELLIJAY, GA – James Barnett Cullers, Sr., 82, passed away on April 16, 2019. Born in Streater, IL on August 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Francis Lee and Thelma Fay (Barnett) Cullers. From July, 1955 – July, 1959, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. James was employed at Monsanto in the Springfield area as a Project Manager before his retirement. He resided in the area from 1960 – 2018. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary Alice (Marques) Cullers who passed away in February, 1997, his brothers Tom Cullers and Charles Kyle and his step-son Robert F. Denehy. To cherish his memory, he leaves his son James B. Cullers, Jr.; step daughter Rosemary Denehy; grandson Brian Denehy; great grandson Brandon Denehy Carney; his sister Marilyn Cullers as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 9-11 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA followed by a service at 11 AM. Burial will be in Longmeadow Cemetery.
