James L. Bowen Jr.

James Ladell Bowen Jr., age 25, of East Longmeadow MA, died tragically as a passenger in a head-on collision in Windsor CT on September 23, 2022. James was born September 1, 1997 in Oklahoma City, OK and was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School Class of 2015. He was an active and creative person whose smile lit up a room; he played volleyball during high school and studied Fashion Design at Lasell University. James was an amazing light and good friend to all who knew him; from fellow students to his co-workers and customers at the Pride Convenience Store and gas station on Main Street in East Longmeadow. James was hilarious. He loved to have fun, travel with family and friends, and live his life with no regrets.
James was loved and will be missed greatly by his family, which includes his mother, Marion Bowen of East Longmeadow, MA; father James L Bowen Sr. and his wife Beverly Bowen of Stillwater, OK; sister Tia Bowen of East Longmeadow, MA; sister LaVonna Vo and her husband Van Vo of Wilmington, MA; and a host of extended family and very close friends who have shown an overwhelming amount of support both before and after this tragic event.
All services will be at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Visiting hours will be on Thursday September 29th from 4 - 7pm. The funeral service will be on Friday September 30th at 10:30am. We encourage all of those who have known and supported James to attend.
