Harry E. Reynolds

Longmeadow – Harry Reynolds departed this earthly world on May 19, 2018. He was born in Prattsburgh, NY in 1934, son of Floyd and Georgia (Rumsey) Reynolds and stepson of Eleanor (Wescott) Reynolds. He served in the U. S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division in Europe during peacetime. He received degrees from SUNY Cortland, Springfield College, and University of Massachusetts. He was the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for 39 years for the town of Longmeadow, MA. He also served as the town Tree Warden for over 20 years. He was a football official for high school and college for 25 years. He was a volunteer for various organizations in the Springfield area. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Cleveland) Reynolds; his sons, Eric (Sidra), Jeffrey (Brittany), and Peter (Hanah); grandchildren Robert, Melissa, Grace, Havy, Jack, Davis, Paxton, Sonja and Vivien. At his request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on Saturday, June 9th at 1PM at the Longmeadow Community House, 735 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA.
