Grace J. Pio

SPRINGFIELD – Grace L. Pio, 87, passed away on September 13, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on October 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Rosealma (Godin) Pio.

Prior to her retirement, Grace was employed for many years at Western New England College as an Assistant Registrar.

She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club of Agawam, St. Anne's Society, Daughters of Isabella and Stella D'Italia.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Otis P. “Pat” Pio and Angela Kenney; her sister-in-law Iris Pio and her niece Cynthia Kenney. To cherish her memory, Grace leaves her nieces and nephews Kathleen R. Cassanelli and her husband Stephen of Orwell, VT, Richard Pio and his former wife Clara of Springfield, James E. Kenney and his wife Patricia of Wilmington, NC and Stephen O. Kenney and his wife Debra of Orwell, VT; her great nieces Bianca A. Pio and Lisa M. Cassanelli and her great nephews Stephen M. Kenney and David S. Cassanelli and his significant other Elyssa Arevalo.

Family and friends are invited to Grace’s Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main Street, Agawam followed by burial in Agawam Center Cemetery.
