Giuseppina Caracciolo

East Longmeadow- Giuseppina “Josie” Caracciolo, 57, died December 30, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center.
Josie was born in Quindici, Italy, a daughter of the late Sabino and Maria (Cardaropoli). Caracciolo. She was a resident of the Springfield area for 49 years. Josie was employed for 24 years, as a mammographer at Mercy Medical Center; previously having worked at the former Ludlow Hospital. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Springfield.
Josie enjoyed hosting parties for family and friends. She loved to travel, was an avid reader and had a profound love of sports. Josie had a very creative ability making many floral arrangements, baking Christmas cookies, and designing her Christmas village display.
Besides her parents, Josie was pre-deceased by a brother and sister Antonio and Assunta Caracciolo. Josie is survived by her sister, Anna Caracciolo of East Longmeadow; two brothers, Aniello Caracciolo of East Longmeadow, Albert Salvatore Caracciolo of East Granby, CT; three sisters in law, Barbara Caracciolo of East Longmeadow, Teresa Caracciolo of Springfield, Nicole Sokolowski of East Granby, CT; four nephews, Sabino Caracciolo, Vincenzo Caracciolo and his wife Melanie, Robert Caracciolo, Tony Caracciolo; a niece, Maria Caracciolo; great nephew, Antonio Savino Caracciolo; great niece Presley Caracciolo; 2 cousins, Anna Burns and her husband Tim, and Louisa Gandini; along with extended family members. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the calling hours from 9:00AM-10:00AM on Saturday (January 4, 2020) in the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Funeral ceremonies begin in the funeral home at 10:00AM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield.
