Longmeadow – Gerard Andre Boucher, 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 11, 2021. Gerry was born on April 10, 1941 in Springfield MA to the late Raphael and Marie-Anne (Roy) Boucher. He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield Technical High School. Gerry was the first in his family to attend college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hartford and a Master’s Degree from Springfield College.
Gerry was a teacher of marketing at Enrico Fermi High School of Enfield CT for over thirty years. He also worked part-time at Allstate Insurance, and owned and managed rental properties in Springfield and Northampton.
In his leisure time, Gerry was a man devoted to his family. He enjoyed vacationing on the Cape and in Ogunquit ME, visiting family on the Jersey Shore, listening to music, seeing his grandchildren, and taking trips to visit relatives in Quebec.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of fifty years Diane (Reichle) Boucher of Longmeadow, his sons Christopher Boucher of Northampton and Bryan Boucher of Dallas, TX, and his grandchildren Zoe and Gideon.
In addition to his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his brother Jean-Paul Boucher and his sister Jeannine Roy.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will start on Saturday November 20, 2021 with calling hours from 9-11am in Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow MA. His funeral mass will follow at 12:00pm in St. Mary’s Parish, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will be in Longmeadow Cemetery.
