George F. Karroll Jr

SPRINGFIELD- George F. Karroll Jr., 79, Ascended into the Journey of Everlasting Life on May 18, 2018. Born in West Brookfield to the late George F. Carroll Sr. and Pauline H. (Yesacavage) Carroll; he was a Springfield resident for most of his life.  He was predeceased by a brother and sister in law, Pete and Barbara Karroll. George served during peacetime in the United States Airforce. He was a retired grounds keeper last employed at Georgetown Condominiums and previously at Hampden Country Club. George was an avid gardener who loved to make his own pickles and homemade root beer. His talent with a jig saw allowed him to create some very special types of cabinetry items. George was also a devout fan of the Patriots and the Red Sox and looked forward to every game. He is survived by 2 sisters, Elizabeth Carroll of Florida and Joanne Trella of Rockfall, CT; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Funeral Mass for George will be offered to family and friends on Friday (May 25th) 11AM in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd, Springfield with a Burial to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield. There are no calling hours. Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangments.
