East Longmeadow- Gennaro “Jerry” Settembre 98, husband of 65 years to the late Carol Ann (Spies) Settembre, passed away on November 15, 2021. He was a resident of East Longmeadow for over 60 years. Born in Naples, Italy he served in the Italian Navy during WW II. Jerry was last employed by and retired from Smith and Wesson, Springfield. An avid tennis player he enjoyed playing the sport for 25 years in Forest Park, Boca Raton, FL and at Cape Cod. He was a longtime member of the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61. In addition to his wife who passed on February 18, 2020, Jerry was also predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Maria, Ida, Alfred, and Vincent. Jerry is survived by his three sons, Vincent Settembre and David Settembre both of East Longmeadow, Gary Settembre and his wife Rochelle , of Westfield. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Calling hours are from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Thursday Nov. 18, 2021 at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. A funeral home service will take place on Friday Nov. 19, 2021 at 10:00AM with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield.
