April 23, 1929 ~ September 9, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Obituary

Dr. Francis X. McNulty, aged 92, passed away on September 9, 2021. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on April 23, 1929, he was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Anna (Fitzgerald) McNulty.

From October 1946 to March of 1948, Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Korea. He returned to complete his education at Holyoke High School, then attending St. Anselm’s College and achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Frank practiced as a dentist for 33 years, the majority performed in his self-owned practice established in Agawam, Massachusetts in 1958.

Frank was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and travel with his wife Nancy. They shared an active interest in genealogy, and in that pursuit, traced his family roots to Achill Island, County Mayo in Ireland. He was grateful to meet and know a host of extended family gained from that research and travel experience.

Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Mahoney Dodd McNulty, his siblings Jack McNulty, Mary Dupre, Thomas McNulty, Sr. and Anne Dubois. To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved wife Nancy Y. (Porter) McNulty; his children Francis X. McNulty, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Suffield, CT., and his daughter Joanna Dodd of Feeding Hills; his stepchildren Susan Davis of California, Robert Young of Vermont and David Young of Easthampton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Baystate Noble Hospital for the compassion and care they gave Frank in his final days.

Private services will be held for the family and have been entrusted to Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to: MAK (Maryanne’s Kids), Center for Human Development, Attn: Home Finding, 246 Park Street, West Springfield, Mass. 01089.
