Francis A. Mancini, Sr., 85, of Agawam, MA, a loving father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 10, 2020. Born October 14, 1934 in Providence, RI, he was a son to the late Mario Joseph and Elizabeth (Petrucci) Mancini. He was raised in Providence until moving to West Springfield in 1976. He was a six year veteran of the US Air Force serving his country proudly with the Military Police. He was employed by Con Rail as a chief crew dispatcher out of Boston and Springfield. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching and coaching his children and grandchildren play a variety of sports. Francis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Rosemary (Powell) Mancini; his beautiful children Francis A. and Sarah Mancini Jr. of Southwick, Gina A. Mancini and her fiancé, Sean P. Scott of Feeding Hills, Robert M. and Andrea Mancini of West Springfield; Tracey L. Mancini-Moran of Agawam, and Eric J. and Christina Mancini of Westfield. He also leaves 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Anna Arnold; brothers Richard, William and Ronnie Mancini; and several nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Randy Mancini; granddaughter Gianna Marie Ugolini; and brothers Thomas, Mario and Angelo Mancini. A private burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. A public Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorial contributions be made in Francis’ name to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
