Ernest Raymond Lempke Jr.

SOUTHWICK- Ernest “Ernie” Raymond Lempke, Jr., 66, passed away on July 1, 2019, at Heritage Hall West with his loving family by his side. Ernie was born in Springfield, MA, on January 7, 1953, to the late Ernest R. Lempke and Norma (Kingsbury) Hanzel. Ernie achieved his associate’s degree, and later became a Power Engineer for Mass Power before retiring in 2013. Ernie was an avid learner, jack of all trades, eternal optimist, and most importantly a family man. He loved Star Trek, astronomy, history, and music, but there was nothing he loved more than his family. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Betty Lou (Kirk) Lempke of both Southwick, MA and Floral City, FL; his sons Robert E. Lempke and his wife Elaina of Southwick, MA, and Ernest R. Lempke III and his wife Lindsey of Blackwood, NJ; and his grandchildren whom he adored Maria Lempke and Robert Lempke, Jr. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sisters Deborah Morissey and Joanne Lempke. A Celebration of Life will be held for Ernie at 11AM on Saturday, July 6, at the Southwick Congregational Church, 488 College Hwy, Southwick, MA.
