Emily E. Estock

October 11, 1923 ~ November 27, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Emily Elizabeth (Nemec) Estock, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Emily was born in Westfield, MA on October 11, 1923, to Joseph Norbert Nemec and Emilie (Kovar) Nemec and lived her whole life in Westfield until she moved to Southwick in 2012 to live with her son Stephen and his family.
After graduating from Westfield High School, Emily worked at various businesses such as Westfield Whip, Perkins Machine and Gear and then worked in the First National Grocery Store in Westfield for over thirty years. During the Second World War, Emily decided to attend Westfield Trade School to become a machinist and help out in the war effort. While making gears for the war at Perkins Machine she met and married Stephen Paul Estock with whom she enjoyed 60 years of marriage. During those years they traveled to all the lower 48 states, spent a week in Germany and Texas while their son Stephen was in the Air Force. Their vacations every year included weeks at Hampton Beach, traveling to Laconia, NH with Stephen’s brother Bill, a Harley dealer in PA and enjoying life together.
Emily enjoyed making crocheted afghans, circle-a-words, going to the casino, watching the deer and other wildlife outside her bedroom window, and seeing her family grow. She greatly enjoyed her two newest great-grandchildren. Emily leaves behind a son Stephen R. Estock and his wife Pamela with whom she lived. Emily also leaves a grandson Brian T. Estock and friend Stacy Smith, granddaughter Lindsey B. (Estock) Ruscio and her husband Christopher W. Ruscio and their children Leilani and Giavanna of Hampden, MA. Emily leaves a sister Madelyn (Nemec) Carroll and her husband William Carroll of Westfield, a brother Edward in Barnstable, MA and many nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen in 2003, brother John, George, Joseph and sisters Ann, Rose, and Betty. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6th from 9-9:45 am at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 9:45 AM. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 11 AM. Donations can be made in Emily’s name to St. Peter’s Church, Westfield.
