Emiddio Botta

Emiddio Botta, 63, of Feeding Hills, MA, passed away suddenly on March 10, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carmen (Rondinelli) Botta; two sons Giovanni Botta and his wife Kayleigh, Emiddio Botta and his fiancé Jessica Olmo. He also leaves his most cherished grandsons Emiddio and Giovanni who were the joys of his life.
Born in Bracigliano, Italy, Emiddio came to the United States in 1983. He opened his first of two Pastry Shops, Pasticceria Italia, in Bloomfield, CT in 1996 and his second in Southwick, MA in 2006. As a Master Pastry Chef, Emiddio took great pride in his work. His dedication, passion, and hard work in providing the finest in baked goods and artisan pastries made him a premier baker. People drove from all over Connecticut and Western Mass to taste his famous Easter wheat pies, zeppole and sfogliatella. With his genuine smile and open heart, all who knew him became his friend.
Family meant everything to him. His favorite times were family gatherings and holiday celebrations, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Emiddio was also an avid gardener, taking pride in his numerous fig trees, peach trees and flowers that surrounded his home. He also enjoyed watching soccer, especially his favorite team Juventus.
Emiddio is proceeded by his parents Giovanni and Annunziata Botta of Italy and his father-in-law Joseph Rondinelli; He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Aida Rondinelli of Agawam, MA. In Italy, he leaves behind his brothers Bruno and Geraldo Botta, sisters Luigina Bertelli, Anna Stoppiello, and Rita Landi.
He also leaves behind a brother-in-law Peter Rondinelli and his wife Catherine, a sister-in-law Felicia (Rondinelli) Easton and her husband Stephen along with many cherished cousins that were like brothers and sisters to him; Maria Podgurski, Francesca DeGugliermo and Raffale Russo. He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Emiddio will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. A funeral service will begin at 8:30AM on Friday, March 17th at the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10AM, in Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield St., Feeding Hills, MA.
