East Longmeadow – Elsine M. (Haddad) Sadak, devoted and loving mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 with family by her side. Born in Pittsfield MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Broheem) Haddad. She graduated from Bennington VT High School and St. Lukes Hospital in Pittsfield MA in 1954. She furthered her education when obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1984 from Our Lady of the Elms College. She began her career at Mercy Hospital in their Labor and Delivery unit, and then was dedicated to Johnson Memorial Hospital for numerous years. Nursing was a true passion, as Elsine was a nurse for sixty years. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time together. She also enjoyed traveling, singing, playing piano, writing and she was an avid reader.
Her husband Esper J. Sadak sadly passed away in 1979. Elsine is survived by her adored children: Michael Sadak and his wife Barbara of San Diego CA, Edward Sadak of Boston, Marie Sadak-Bishop and her husband Ray of Enfield CT, Lisa Rose and her husband Dale of North Attleboro MA, Sara Maggipinto and her husband Michael of East Longmeadow, and Mary Louise Brennan and her husband Jim of Longmeadow; her cherished ten grandchildren; her brother Fred Haddad; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Elsine was predeceased by her brothers Edward and Joseph Haddad.
On Saturday, November 24, 2018 a Liturgy of Christian Burial be held at 10:00am in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church on 375 Island Pond Road in Springfield with a luncheon to follow at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.
