Elmer C. Wyman Jr., 73, of Wilbraham, passed peacefully in his home on October 27. Elmer was born in Bellows Falls, VT to the late Esther N. (Miles) and Elmer C. Wyman, Sr. Elmer proudly served in the US Navy in Lakehurst, NJ and aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He enjoyed a long career as a meat cutter working at several stores in the Springfield area including 25 years at Longmeadow Community Market. Elmer is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline M. (Rosati); two sons, Stephen and his wife, Maria of Maryland; and Paul of Wilbraham; and six grandchildren - Luke, Anna, Madelyn, Lauren, Stephanie and Stephen Jr. Elmer was predeceased by a brother, Frank, and leaves behind two sisters, Patricia and husband, Ron Gaydosh Sr. of N. Olmsted, Ohio and Nancy and husband, John Wilbur Sr. of Marstons Mills, MA. Elmer also leaves behind a tremendous extended family of which he said, "We always had so much fun." A funeral service for Elmer will be held at 11AM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. Interment with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, November 1st at the funeral home.
