Elizabeth B. Gurski

AGAWAM – Elizabeth “Betty” B. Gurski, 94, passed away on February 13, 2018 at Heritage Hall West. Born in Baltimore, MD on October 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Barbara (Schlamp) Rosner. Betty and her husband Walter were married on April 26, 1952 in West Springfield and were longtime members of the West Springfield First Baptist Church. Betty and Wally enjoyed playing many games of Pinochle with relatives and friends. Prior to her marriage, she had been employed at American Bosch. Betty was appreciated by everyone for her delicious apple pies and Tollhouse cookies. She was predeceased by her loving husband Walter T. Gurski who passed away in 1998; her brothers William and Edward Rosner and her sisters Helen Burlingham and Dorothy Walker. Betty leaves her sons Robert Gurski, David Gurski and his wife Lauralyn and her children Cara and Corey White and William Gurski as well as her sister Millie (Mildred) Provencher. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:30 AM in the Agawam Center Cemetery, 820 Main Street, Agawam. Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 337 Piper Road, West Springfield, MA 01089.
