Obituary

East Longmeadow – Elizabeth “Beth” A. (Donlon) Duffy will be remembered for her generous and easy going personality, and how she always would say nice things about everyone. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed keeping busy and being outdoors. She was a loving and wonderful mother and wife. Beth passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 surrounded by family who loved her dearly. Born in Winchester MA, Beth was one of five children to her parents Michael and Mary (Baptiste) Donlon. She graduated from Winchester High School and continued on to college. She was the administrator for First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow for over 22 years, prior to that she worked at Meadowbrook School, she also volunteered at the Red Cross and at Loaves and Fishes for several years with her husband. She belonged to many clubs in her life including Tai Chi and various book clubs.
Beth is survived by her husband of 50 years, Albert Duffy; her two adored sons, Michael A. Duffy and his wife Tracy of West Suffield CT and Sean Duffy and his wife Karen of Hamdpen MA; her beloved grandchildren: Patrick and Noelle Sullivan, Madison and Liam Duffy, and Jacob and Robert Duffy; her great-grandson Greyson; three brothers, Joe Donlon and his wife Joanne, Paul Donlon and his wife Nancy, and Robert Donlon and his wife Cathy; a sister Joanne O’Brien and her husband Jack; and sister-in-law Margie Todd; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Beth’s life will begin with visiting hours on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4:00-7:00pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow. On Friday, September 7th the funeral will begin 10:15am at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30am in St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow.
