Elizabeth A. Barton

On Thursday, August 27, 2020, Elizabeth Ann Barton, loving mother of two boys, passed away at the age 52. Liz was born on March 14, 1968 in Wilmington, DE to William and Christine (Dudek) Ruark of Springfield.

She attended Longmeadow High School, received an Associate Degree from Brooks Fashion College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Siena College. She worked for many years as a Financial Controller at Sealed Air Corporation. Her marriage to Brian Barton brought Ryan and Michael into the world, who were the light of her life.

Liz and her sons had a passion for the outdoors, spending long days at the beach, fishing at the local pond and playing with their dog, Bella. She never missed her sons’ baseball games and they cherished their trips to Cooperstown where their team played in summer tournaments.

Liz was a fantastic competitive tennis player who enjoyed a good workout in the gym which more than made up for her love of chocolate ice cream. Diet coke, Mötley Crüe and time spent with friends were some of her favorite things. Liz especially loved being with her brother Daryle, who she lovingly called Boomer.

After a long illness, Liz is survived by her parents, sons Ryan, 14 and Michael, 13 and their father, as well as her brother Daryle, her sister-in-law Michelle, her two nephews Derek and Jonathan and her niece Eva. She is predeceased by her grandparents Stella and Stanley Dudek, Annabelle Birch and Ashland Ruark.
