Eleanor A Jacobs

Eleanor “Ellie” A. Jacobs, 89, of East Longmeadow, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at CareOne at Redstone. She is finally reunited with her beloved, George.

Ellie was born in Manhattan, NY on January 15, 1933 to the late Elmer and Signe (Nelson) Newman. Eleanor was a kind person with a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid sports lover of New England teams, but especially loved the Red Sox. In her spare time when she wasn’t watching her favorite baseball team, she enjoyed keeping up with current events through Fox News and enjoyed playing backgammon. She collected elephants and displayed them throughout her home. She loved the color purple. More importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children; her loving daughters Brenda Sowers-Cianciola and her husband, Mark, and Doreene Kimball, as well as her son David Kimball. She leaves behind her wonderful grandchildren; Anthony, Andrea, Stafanie, Gina, Nicola, Christina, Catherine, and Vincent, as well her great grandchildren; Joseph, Mason, Preston, Dylan, Mia, Anthony III, Gabriella, Gavin and Jackson. She is also survived by George's entire loving family. She is predeceased by her loving daughter Michelle Jacobs, as well as the love of her life George R. Ammirato, Sr.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the entire staff at Beaven Kelly Nursing Home for their exceptional care given to their mother.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation hours on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 9:00 -11:00am following a service at 11am at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation located at 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield, MA.
