Dorothy Mueller

Dorothy Mueller, 86, of Springfield, formerly of Chatham, MA and Midland Park, NJ, beloved wife for 59 years to Paul E. Mueller, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Born in Paterson, NJ, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Jacob and Augusta Dop. Dorothy grew up in Hawthorne, NJ and graduated from Hawthorne High School. She met the love of her life, Paul Mueller and they were married on August 24, 1957. Dorothy raised her family in New Jersey before moving to Chatham and then moving to Springfield in 2016 to be closer to family. Dorothy will always be remembered for her love of family, her faith, her generous spirit, as well as her appreciation for nature, music, singing and the arts. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Springfield. Besides her beloved husband, she leaves her son, Rev. John Mueller and his wife Joy of Springfield; 3 grandchildren, Jacob and Joanna Mueller and Alicia Winslow; and 2 great-grandchildren, Norah and Elijah. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Paul J. Mueller in 2006, and her 2 sisters, Marie Howard and Claire Tangney. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 361 Sumner Ave., Springfield. Burial will be private.
