Doris I. Seymour

SOUTHWICK – Doris I. Seymour, 90, passed away on November 24, 2020 at Bear Mountain at West Springfield. Born in Hartford, CT on February 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucienne (Royer) LaBrecque. For many years, she worked for the Town of Southwick in the Assessor’s Office and retired at the age of 81. She was also well-known in Southwick as the local “Avon Lady”, selling Avon for almost 40 years, and was a member of Avon’s President’s Club. In her spare time, Doris loved to play Bingo and enjoyed making latch hook rugs, but her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. Her late husband, Leonard, and her children all loved her dearly- she was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend anybody could ever ask for. She was selfless, kind and extremely generous- a true angel on earth. She loved her family immensely, cared for them well and provided them with many years of wonderful memories that will never be forgotten. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard A. Seymour, who passed away in 2001; her sons David and Douglas Seymour; her brother Albert LaBrecque and her sister Dorothy Hamilton. To cherish her memory, she leaves her children Donna Kuralt and her husband Frank of Southwick, Daniel Seymour and his wife Donna of FL, Dale Seymour and his wife Nancy of Chicopee, Diane Santaniello and her husband Robert of West Springfield and Nancy Meehan and her significant other Scott Dusza of Southwick; her grandchildren Heather, Brian, Christopher, Ashlee, Adam, Jillian and Ethan; her great grandchildren Aiden and Amelia; her brothers Armand, Roger and Robert LaBrecque; her sister Lucille Dewey as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 4 – 7 PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Funeral services for Doris will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will be in New Cemetery, Southwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwick Ambulance Fund, P.O.
