Donald R. LeSage, 69, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 with his loving, caring wife, nurse, best friend, Marty by his side. “A very lucky man was I to have ever found such a wonderful lady to spend my life with; I will be waiting for you in heaven.” I will always be with you, now you have a new guardian angel…ME! Don was born and grew up in the Berkshires. He graduated from Adams High School in 1965. He received his Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1968 from St. Joseph College (Southern Vermont College now) in Bennington, VT. Don loved playing sports all year long, baseball, football, basketball, golf and softball. He served 12 years in the Massachusetts Army National Guard as a Platoon Sergeant. He worked at Rochester Paper Co. in Adams and Strathmore Paper Co. in Westfield for several years in Sales and Customer Service. He then worked for Drake Bakeries Route Sales for 24 years retiring in 2004. The past 12 years Don worked as a Courier for Baystate Reference Labs. He was a member of the Scantic Valley YMCA and St. Mary’s Church. Besides his loving wife Marty (Martha A. Harrington-LeSage), Don leaves a daughter, Nikki and her husband Mark Morrison and Don’s Grandson Rex from Stamford, CT; his brother-in-law, Jay from Hampden; his sister-in-law Beth and her husband Mike from Sudbury, MA; his sister-in-law Katie and her husband John from Ventura, CA. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Don was predeceased by his parents Roger and Lucille (Herzog) LeSage from Adams and a sister Mary White from Dalton. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 27 Somers Rd., Hampden. Burial will private at a later date.In lieu of flowers, in memory of Don, donations can be made to the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main St., Springfield, MA 01107 or to Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01102.
