Derrell Smith Jr.

East Longmeadow– Derrell Smith, Jr., 71, passed away on August 1, 2018 with his loving family by his side.  He was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Harry D. Smith, Sr. and Julia W. (Cooper) Smith on September 10, 1946 and was a graduate of McCluer High School.  Derrell proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked for over 40 years as a communications technician for AT&T. Derrell leaves his loving wife of 48 years, Gail M. (Mailloux) Smith; his sons, Scott Smith and his wife Sandy of Lyons, OR; Craig Smith and fiancée Bobbie Jo of Springfield, MA; his daughter, Lori Smith of Holyoke, MA; grandchildren, Michael and Kaitlyn; and a brother, Michael Smith and his wife Linda of Columbia, TN. A Memorial Service will be held for Derrell at 7PM on Friday, August 3rd, at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. An hour of     visitation will precede the service from 6-7PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
