Deborah J. Baraniuk

Deborah (Deb) J. Baraniuk, 71, died peacefully at the Julian Leavitt Family Nursing Home on July 24, 2020.

Deb was born and grew up in Easthampton, graduated from Easthampton High School and attended Salem State College for training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN in a variety of nursing positions in the Pioneer Valley during her long and esteemed nursing career. Prior to retiring in 2013 she was the Office Manager for Western Mass Gastroenterology Associates, which position she held for many years. Wherever she worked, or went, Deb spread joy and love. She was much loved in return. 

Deb was a self-proclaimed "meat and potatoes girl" who enjoyed hosting family and friends for barbecues at the Westfield home that she shared with her beloved husband Billy and her two daughters. She and Billy also shared many years of weekend get-a-ways to their cabin retreat in Readsboro, VT.  That was time that Deb cherished. The quiet and the outdoors nourished her spirit.

Deb was pre-deceased by her parents Wesley and Lois (Kober) Graham, her sister, Michelle Keller, her beloved husband William J. Baraniuk and her daughters Tonya and Rebecca Baraniuk. She is survived by her granddaughter Hannah R. Johnson, her brother Peter Graham, sister-in-law Ruth Baraniuk, additional extended family, close friends Wayne Magni and Dawson Karlik as well as innumerable other friends and colleagues who will miss her enormously.  Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday July 28, 2020 from 4-7pm in Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick MA. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
