Dean R. Larabee, Jr.

Dean R. Larabee. Jr., 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully in his home in East Longmeadow on March 14, 2023.

Dean was born on December 23, 1951 to Dean Sr. and Mary Fleming in Cedar Grove, NJ. 

After graduating high school, Dean met the love of his life, Marigrace (Strasburger), with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dean was predeceased by his daughter, Jacqueline.

Dean is survived by his wife, Marigrace; his children Dean Larabee and his wife Kelley and his daughter Lisa Stuart and her husband David and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Mabel, and Clementine. Dean also leaves behind his siblings: Nancy Saperstein, her husband Arthur, and their son Thomas DiRenzo; William Larabee and his husband James Brembt; Debra King and her husband Jeffrey; and Dennis Larabee.

A lifelong restaurant manager, Dean retired from full time employment in 2020. Dean enjoyed growing enormous vegetables in his garden, passing the summers grilling and swimming in his pool, and planning vacations with his wife.

Visitation will be held at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028 on March 18, 2023 beginning at 12:00pm with a funeral service immediately following at 1:30pm.  Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
