David Francis St. John

April 2, 1957 ~ July 31, 2022 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Obituary

David passed away Sunday (the day of his wedding anniversary) surrounded by his dear wife Joyce and loving family members: brother Joe, son David Jr, daughter Alex and stepdaughter Amy.
David left behind extended family members; stepdaughter Erin & husband Shane and son Nick, Amy’s fiancé Jason and son Brayden, Joe’s fiancé Maryann, David Jr fiancé Sara, Alex’s fiancé Anthony, brother-in-law & sister-in-law Steve & Laurie, along with many nieces and nephews. All were a large part of David’s life and provided constant support for Dave throughout the years.
David is predeceased by his parents Francis Joseph & Margaret (Circosta) St John. He also leaves his sister Donna and close cousins Sylvia Hunter & George Circosta (FL). He also leaves many other cousins, and extended family members.
A graduate of West Springfield High class of ’75, David lived in West Springfield & Agawam his entire life. After a “brief” stint in the Army, David worked at Hunter’s Typewriter and Chase Glass before finding his calling as a finish carpenter.
David touched many lives of the people he worked with and for during his 30+ years as a carpenter and creative problem solver. He always had a kind word of support and encouragement and infected everyone with his smile and laugh.
Besides wearing his trademark hats, he would play his many guitars, watch Hallmark channel religiously and tend to his fish. More than anything David basked in the Christmas season. He was the very spirit of Christmas. Visitors would be treated to a tree in every room, more than two dozen Santa Clauses with so many ornaments and decorations you could barely find a place to sit. Simply a modern-day Clark Griswold.
David enjoyed Big E season, loved listening to live music, and any opportunity to socialize with friends and strangers alike.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to caring nurses and doctors at Mercy Hospital and Baystate Medical Center, and especially to Dr. Rony Ghaoui for his exceptional care and guidance over David.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 8th from 3:30-5:30PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. For online condolences please visit www.forastiere.com. Come share a ceremony to celebrate his life and share your fond memories with David. This will be a very casual ceremony, so the family encourages you to wear your favorite floral shirt, Christmas sweater/socks/etc., dress hat/ fedora (not baseball caps). “Laugh with me, about me, or because of me, as long as we’re laughing.”
