David Borowiec

AGAWAM – David M. Borowiec, 40, passed away on April 4, 2019. Born in Springfield, MA on January 12, 1979, to David J. and Roxanne (Bolduc) Borowiec, he attended Agawam Public Schools. A reflection from his parents is that “David was a very thoughtful and generous person who struggled most of his life with addiction. Despite his desire for and his attempts at sobriety, he sadly lost his battle. This disease has affected us in so many ways over the years and we greatly appreciate the empathy, prayers and support we have received from family and friends throughout the years.” One of his favorite pastimes was hiking and taking photographs in Robinson Park. He often said he felt at peace in the woods. David also loved animals. David was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Bella Bolduc and Aunt Jean McGuire. Besides his parents, David leaves his son Anthony D. Borowiec and his mother Nicole Giard of Turner Falls, MA; his brother James A. Borowiec of Westfield; grandfather George Bolduc of Westfield; his girlfriend Kristin Ratkiewicz of Ludlow who is expecting their baby girl in May; uncles and aunts Gary Bolduc (Marybeth) of Ludlow, Denise Rawlings (Mark Rivera) of KS, Doreen Lafleur (Robert) of Springfield, Chester Borowiec (Stacia) of Windsor, CT and Jane Stopa (Medard) of Westfield as well as cousins Kristina Wosczyna (Bryan), Stephanie Spicer, Amanda and Andrew Lafleur, Andrew Borowiec (Jasmine), Samuel Borowiec (Jackie), Laura Stopa and Jackie Sevigne. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 5 – 8 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA.
