Obituary

LONGMEADOW – David J. Bartlett, 64, passed away on October 5, 2019 at Wingate of East Longmeadow. David was born in Meriden, CT to Edward P. Bartlett, Jr. and Doris “Doe” (BreVeglieri) Bartlett. He lived there with his parents and siblings before moving to West Springfield, MA and eventually settling down in Longmeadow, MA. He was a proud graduate of Quinnipiac University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. David loved his career and approached it with unparalleled passion, working for many companies including WGBY, Mass Mutual, and Longmeadow Cable Access in addition to the ten years he was self-employed at Imagemotion. David’s sense of humor brought light to those around him and his strong integrity made everyone who knew him feel comfortable and cared for. He found great joy supporting his family and friends; one of his greatest strengths was his ability to make people feel loved and valued. Above all else David understood the importance of family, spending time not only with his wife and children but extended family as well at the family’s lake house in Western Massachusetts and on annual trips to North Truro, Cape Cod. He enjoyed jazz and funk music, especially Tower of Power, fishing, and his weekly golf trips with his father before his passing. David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved wife Elizabeth “Betsy” Bartlett, children Edward P. Bartlett IV, and Catherine B. Bartlett; brothers Edward P. Bartlett III and his wife Denise, and Daniel C. Bartlett and his wife Paula; and sister Dale MacDonald and her husband Daniel. David was predeceased by his father Edward. The family would like to thank all of the medical personnel who took such thoughtful care of David throughout the years. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 10 from 4-7PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, East Longmeadow. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11 at 10AM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 335 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will be private.
