Obituary

Beloved Corena “Queenie” Ravosa, 83, lifelong resident of the Springfield & Chicopee area passed away Saturday February 23, 2019.

Born in Springfield to Elmira and Anello Ravosa, she was a graduate of Commerce High School and went on to work at Schwinnegan’s Chemical Company in Indian Orchard and then as a legal secretary for her brother Attorney Anthony Ravosa. She was also employed in later years by the City of Springfield.

Corena is predeceased by her parents and her brothers Carmino, Anthony, and Anello, and sister Anna. She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Claire Ravosa (Carmino) and Claudette Ravosa (Anthony), her aunt Ann Radwanski, cousins from the Ravosa, Radwanski and O’Hare families, 5 nieces and nephews and 14 grand nieces and nephews.

Corena loved being a part of her musical and culinary family. She enjoyed the impromptu singing from her brothers Anello and Tony and relished listening to her oldest brother Carmino at the piano. The many accomplishments of her grand nieces and nephews brought her much joy.

Services will be held at Forastiere Funeral Home (45 Locust Street, Springfield) at 9 am on Thursday February 28 followed by 10 am Catholic Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and internment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Chicopee Senior Citizens, 5 W. Main Street, Chicopee MA 01020 or Friends of the Chicopee Public Library, 449 Front Street, Chicopee MA 01013.
