Claude Henry Bernard Ward-Horner

Claude Henry Bernard Ward-Horner, 76, of Agawam, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL with his loving bride by his side. As the son of the late Osmond & Simone (Sullivan) Ward-Horner, Claude was born on December 15, 1943, in the city of Victoria on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles Islands. He also resided in Hounslow, England and Durban, South Africa before moving to the United States in 1972. Claude was a hard-working business owner, wine maker, and well-known cook amongst his family and friends. He was a member of the Masons, Beaver Club, Springfield Turnverein, and Moose Club. His greatest joy was spending time with his 5 grandchildren. Claude is survived by his wife, Chris Ward-Horner; his children, Michael Ward-Horner and his wife Laura of Windsor Locks, CT, Dr. John Ward-Horner and his wife Michele of Littleton, MA, Mary Caxide and her husband Sean of Agawam, MA, Harold Vallie of Easthampton, MA, and Anna Vallie and her partner Jon of Agawam, MA; his siblings, Gina Petraitis and her husband James of Southwick, MA, Mary Rose O’Neill and her husband Patrick of Southwick, MA, Dennis Ward-Horner and his wife Delta of the Seychelles, Alan Horner and his wife Sandra of the Seychelles, Hedy Brezinski and her husband Stephen of Yorba Linda, CA, Kevin Horner and his wife Wendy of the Seychelles, Doris Van Melson of England, Guy Ward-Horner and his wife Margaret of England, and Phillip Ward-Horner of England; his grandchildren, Sarah, Lucas, Britton, Livia, and Autumn; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Claude was predeceased by his first wife, Janice (Fradet) Ward-Horner and his siblings Michael J Ward-Horner, Osmond Ward-Horner, Florence Price, and Marjorie Pearson. Calling hours will be on Sunday, February 9th from 3p.m. to 6p.m. at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Hwy, Southwick, MA. Funeral services will be held on February 10th at 9:30a.m. at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, followed by a Christian Liturgy at Our Lady of the Lake, 224 Sheep Pasture Rd, Southwick, MA to follow.
