Clarice M. Hackett

SPRINGFIELD - Clarice “Claire” M. Hackett, 92, passed away on June 20, 2018 at Wingate at Hampden. Born in Springfield, MA on October 17, 1925 to the late Joseph and Josephine (Fazio) Chica, she graduated from High School of Commerce in 1943. Claire worked for Sears and Roebuck for over 25 years as a Credit Investigator. She enjoyed traveling to Italy and going on trips to the islands. She loved going to the beach, camping and Sunday dinners. Most of all, she loved her family especially her grandchildren. Claire was predeceased by her husband Raymond W. Hackett who passed away in 1994, her brother Quintin Chica and her sister Gloria Marino. To cherish her memory, Claire leaves her sons; Kevin Hackett and his wife Anna of East Longmeadow and Kerry Hackett and his wife Irene of Ludlow; her daughter Karen Yvon of Ludlow; grandchildren Carleen, Jason, Kristopher, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Jennifer as well as two great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena, 1023 Parker St, Springfield, MA 01129. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Tinkham Rd. Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
