Charlotte Napolitan

Suffield – Charlotte Lorand (Maurer) Napolitan, 84, passed away on November 21, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Springfield to the late Charles and Margaret (Melville) Maurer. Charlotte graduated from Cathedral High School and began her working career as a bookkeeper for MassMutual Life Insurance Company. She then went on to work at Standard Tile Distributors for 35 years until her retirement in 1990. Charlotte took pleasure in her job, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid reader. Family vacations in Westbrook, CT from the time she was a little girl to her own grandchildren vacationing there were special to her. She will be dearly missed. She leaves her loving husband of 64 years, Donald D. Napolitan; her daughters, Donna Benito and her husband William of Broad Brook, CT, Cynthia Picknally and her husband Thomas of East Longmeadow, and Lynda McCabe and her husband Paul also of East Longmeadow; 5 grandsons, Donald Maratea, David Maratea (Christine), Joseph Picknally (Maureen), Brian McCabe (Ashlee), and Kevin McCabe; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan, Patrick, Ryan, Isabella, and Emily; a brother, Charles Maurer and his wife Nancy of Osterville, Cape Cod; 2 sisters, Myrna Senecal of Cary, NC, and Edith Valentini of Springfield. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Muriel Andwood. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, November 26th from 4-7PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Charlotte’s funeral will be held on Monday, November 27th from the funeral home at 8:45AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church, East Longmeadow at 10AM. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, East Longmeadow. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
