BRADENTON, FL – Charles W. Russell, Jr., 76, passed away on April 1, 2018 at JGS Lifecare in Longmeadow. Born in Springfield, MA on April 14, 1941 to the late Charles W. and Marjorie (Roche) Russell, he was a graduate of Technical High School. He proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corps. from 1958 – 1962. For 42 years until his retirement, he was employed at M.L. Schmitt Electric as a purchasing agent. As a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, he served as a Past President of the Massachusetts Elks Association and was a Past Exalted Ruler. He also enjoyed playing golf and loved going to the movies. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Bill Russell. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra (Wheeler) Russell; children Michael Russell, Debbie Rosario, Richard Bourgeoise, William Bourgeoise, Arthur Bourgeoise, Ellen Bacon and Julie Barr; 11 grandchildren as well as his siblings John Russell, Gail Rogers and Annie Antmann. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2-5 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA with a service by the Elks at 3PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by committal services and military honors at 11 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
