Cameron M. Champigny

August 30, 1993 ~ June 10, 2022 (age 28) 28 Years Old

Obituary

There are no words to express the loss felt with the sudden passing of Cameron “Cam” Michael Champigny on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the age of 28. Cam was born in Springfield, MA on August 30, 1993 to Denise (Lesniak) and James Champigny of Somers, CT. He was a graduate of Minnechaug High School and worked as a Lawn Technician for Haluch’s Landscapes and a Master Diesel Mechanic for Red’s Towing. His 13-year career at Haluch’s was special because he worked with great people every day, including his father and brother, who he considered his best friends. His dedication to his work was unbelievable.

He will be remembered as a down to earth, kind-hearted, funny, hardworking and humble man with a tremendous passion for life. Cam was also a lifelong outdoorsman. Whether he was riding motocross, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, mudding, skydiving, or making food on the grill, he truly embraced everything and every moment. Cam’s love for adventure “took off” when he obtained a solo pilot’s license and began flying planes, all before obtaining his driver’s license. He had a love and respect for his country. His personality was a magnet, and everyone who met Cam fell in love with him immediately, including animals which he adored.

Cam was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first daughter, Finola Cameron Champigny. Although his passing predates her arrival, Cam’s legacy and unconditional love will manifest through the love and support of those surrounding her. In addition to his parents, Jim and Denise Champigny, Cam will be remembered by his wife and forever companion Meghan (Bouchard) Champigny of East Longmeadow, their soon-to-be daughter Finola, his brother Carter, his maternal grandparents Patricia “Nan” and Federick “Bumpa” Lesniak, his godfather and uncle Michael Champigny and his wife Kristen, his aunt Laura Zina and her husband George, his uncle Frederick Lesniak and his wife Kelly, his cousin Andrew and his wife Keara, his cousin Max, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Lori Bouchard, and numerous extended family and cherished friends. Cameron was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Paul and Judith Champigny.

To honor and remember Cameron, there will be visiting hours on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 1:00-4:00pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support his daughter’s future by sending donations to: The Family of Cameron Champigny, c/o Peoples Bank, 201 N.
